Snowy Robson

Snowy Robson Bio

To other professionals, he is the entertainer’s entertainer. Without detracting from those Super Stars who frequent the Australian club scene, it remains a fact that when the performance is over, it’s Snowy Robson who receives the praise.
Snowy began his singing career in Newcastle in 1967. Few Newcastle artists enjoyed such immediate
recognition. From rock to country, he soon was the holder of numerous awards within the gambit of the Hunter Valley County Music Assn & the Rising Star Quest.
In 1980 he started singing country music with the Steel City Country Music Assn, where he was awarded the first life membership, and became the holder of seven awards ranging from Best Duo to Best Male Vocal.
He then moved to Sydney & bigger things started to appear on the horizon, such as touring with country greats like Jimmy Little & Jean Stafford as well as being signed to a three-year recording contract. Then he added acting as a second string to his bow, playing parts in Paint Your Wagon with Norman Yemm.
To expand his acting experience he played roles in television programs such as, Sons & Daughters &
A Country Practice on the 7 network & The Two Ronnies Down Under on the 9 network. Running
parallel to this is his movie experiences, in such features as Bourke & Wills, Beyond Thunder Dome, Act of Betrayal & Tracy.
In October 1985 he took the male lead in A.D.A.S.A.’s (Academy of Dramatic & Social Arts) Concert at the Opera House, to a capacity audience who afforded him rave reviews.
Since his start in Newcastle, Snowy has received four “Golden Guitar” nominations in Tamworth for best male vocal.
Then he went back to live stage with a two year stint as narrator and the King in Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs, an International Attractions production, which at that time was the longest running stage production in the southern hemisphere. This tour was extended due to popular demand.
In 1989 it was off overseas for The Calgary Stampede in Canada & Disneyland, Spruce Goose & Queen Mary Complex in L.A.
He underscored his experience with a twelve-month show on SKY channel, co-hosting Country Connection with Donnie Sutherland. Then it was back to the States to represent Australia at World Fest 2000 in Branson Missouri, where it was a grueling 75 shows as well as television & radio appearances within 5 weeks.
Recently he was called upon to support the great Chubby Checker at one of his Sydney concerts. Now with the launch of his fantastic show “Gone But Not Forgotten” This really is just the beginning of an already eventful career.
